Time is a fickle friend. We wake up each day with a blank slate and all the time in the world, only to find our day disappear under a pile of busy work and minor tasks. We work so hard, but by the end of the week, we don’t really have anything to show for it. Sound...

Every entrepreneur deals with comparison. As we strive to grow our businesses, gain new clients, and hone in on our niche, we can easily get swept up in the negative side of comparison: That person makes WAY more than I do. Their marketing is SO much better than mine....
Throughout my coaching and marketing experience, one theme that emerges often among my clients is the struggle to choose a business name. It is not an uncommon obstacle. When it comes to your business, the name is one of the first things customers encounter. Asking...
As a business coach, something I hear from almost every small business owner who calls me is this: “I know what I’m offering is helping people. I feel like what I offer can literally help anyone. I keep hearing I need to have a niche but I don’t want...

Since Harper was born, I’ve been making notes of sweet moments. I know the memories easily slip away as time goes on and I want to hold onto these especially.
This year has been hard on many levels but for me, it’s also brought a LOT of joy.
This year, I became a Mom. This new role drains my brain and fills my heart. It has a way of snapping priorities into place. It has shown me the best of myself and my husband.
So, on this Thanksgiving, I want to share some of the memories I’m thankful for about becoming a Mom.
🎉 The way my daughter always, always smiles right before she falls asleep
🎉 The way my husband and I find each other’s hands under the covers at midnight, 3a, 6a .... in a silent promise that we have each other’s backs
🎉 The yummy noises my daughter makes when she’s eating. She savors every sip and grunts at you when you take the bottle away
🎉 The way Harper grabs my shirt when she falls asleep to snuggle in deeper
🎉 The way my husband looks at me and tells me over and over again what a great Mom I am
🎉 The way my husband whispers in my daughter’s ear when he doesn’t think I’m listening that he loves her and knows she’s such a good, strong girl
🎉 The way my husband can always make Harper giggle and the way she lights up when he walks into the room
🎉 The moments before bed when we say our prayers and I do gratitude time with her so we can look back on the day and remember all the good moments without letting them pass us by. Something I intend to continue teaching her how to do.
🎉 When my baby learned that we are connected and she has the power to reach out to me. She plays with my face as she takes her bottle or as I rock her to sleep. She pokes at my cheeks and feels my lips and touches my chin. She holds my hand and moves it around as she watches the new power and control she has over her own movements.
I love watching her figure things out and connect to the world around her. It gives me a whole new perspective on the way our minds work.
ALWAYS on point and NEVER off the clock? I bet you're exhausted.
I know I used to be. I'll admit, I kind of used to wear my busy-ness as a badge of honor.
➡️ I must be successful if I'm this wanted/needed/busy!
➡️ Others will think I'm super important if I'm this busy.
➡️ I'm making more money working on my days off.
➡️ I'm more productive and making more headway when I work all the time.
➡️ I have to work all the time or I'll lose clients/look bad.
Just plain wrong. Sorry, not sorry.
In reality, you're probably just...
🤔 mentally drained all the time
🤔 not able to step away (it's called work addiction)
🤔 carrying an inflated sense of responsibility
🤔 reacting to fire after fire
🤔 unable to focus day in and out because your brain is always going
🤔 suffering in your personal relationships because you're always working
🤔 exhausted because you never allow yourself to recharge

One of my favorite excerpts from The Ant and The Elephant by Vince Poscente:
“Imagine a tiny ant on the back of a massive African elephant. No matter how diligently that ant marches east, if the elephant he sits upon travels in the opposite direction, the ant will end up farther west than his starting point. Similarly, we will find ourselves receding from our goals if our conscious and subconscious minds are not aligned.”
He goes on this book about leadership to talk about how you have to get your alignment right to create the "elephant buzz." That shiver down your spine that lets you know you're aligned and moving in the right direction. As soon as @mserikashepard and I discussed the power of positive emotions in my Conversations with the Masters series this Summer, I immediately thought of this leadership parable!
So ... what positive emotions are you manifesting today? Tell me in the comments!
